Co-vice Chair and Executive Board Member of

Prof. Zou was graduated from 6-year program of clinical medicine, Shanghai Medical University (now Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University) and obtained his MD there in 2002. Now he serves Doctoral Supervisor, Chief of Reumatology Division, Vice President (Teaching and Research), Director of Institutional Review Boards and Head of Clinical Drug Trial of Huashan Hospital, and Vice President(Foreign Affairs) of Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University. Besides, he chairs Huashan Institute of molecular and Transitional Medicine and Institute of Rheumatology, Immunology and Allergy (IRIA) and holds the post of Steering Committee Member and Secretary of the Forum for Ethical Review Committes in the Asian and Western Pacific Region(FERCAP), the World Health Organization (WHO) Special Training and Research Programme in Tropical Diseases (TDR). Besides, he is a committee member of several critical health-related organizations in China, such as the National Health Criteria Committee, Clinical Medicine Professional Certification Committee of Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Panel of National Infrastructure of Chinese Genetic Resources, Biobank Branch of China Medicinal Biotech Association. And he’s co-vice chairman of Chinese Rheumatology Association and Rheumatology and Immunology Doctor Branch of China Medical Doctor Association and Chairman of Rheumatology Division of Shanghai Medical Association. In the past 5 years he has been undertaking eight programmes, such as Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Project supported by Shanghai Committee of Science and Technology, Project supported by Chinese Ministry of Health, and Leader Plan of Shanghai Outstanding Disciplines. During the same period of time, he has been First Author or Corresponding Author of 25 papers, among which 5 are SCI dissertations. As a chief editor or associate editor , he has also published 8 monographs. He won the first prize of Shanghai Teaching Achievement and the second prize of Shanghai Medical Scientific Achievements, both of which were directly accomplished by himself. Now he works mostly on genetics of gout, on clinical study of systemic sclerosis or scleroderma, polymyositis, dermatomyositis and psoriatic arthritis, and on research of the mechanisms of regulatory T cells in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis.
