Steering Committee Member of InSCAR
Professor Jin earned his doctorate of biomedicine
and genetics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He has
been awarded Fudan-Haoqing Distinguished Professor, a finalist of China
Recruitment Program of Global Experts and a foreign member of International Max
Planck Research School, Germany. Now he is the vice-president, head of the
graduate school of Fudan University. He also holds the post of members of several
important domestic educational, scientific and political organizations, such as
the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Science and Technology
Commission of Ministry of Education, and Shanghai Political Consultative
Committee. He had also been Co-Director of Chinese Academy of Sciences-Max
Planck Research Groups (CAS-MPG) Partner Institute for Computational Biology
(PICB), Adjunct Professor (tenured post) of
Center for Genome Information, Department of Environmental Health, College of
Medicine, University of Cincinnati, and Director of North American Association
of Chinese Medical Geneticists. In addition, he has
joined the board of councilors of several prestigious international academic
organization like Human Genome Organization (HUGO) and has successively been
Member, Associate Editor and Chief Editor of editorial board of 9 international
journals.
His major research concerns include medical
genetics, genetic epidemiology, human population genetics and computational
biology. So far, he has published 270 papers in such SCI-covered core
periodicals as Nature, Science and PNAS and his papers has been sited more than
13,800 times. He has won the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young
Scholars (Type A and B), Changjiang Scholoar Award by Ministry of Education, the
Science and Technology Progress Award by Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation (HLHL),
Shanghai Science and Technology Elite Award Second Prize of National Natural
Science and several times of First Prize of provincial Science and Technology
Progress.
